Born 1874-03-20 in Kingston, Ont. Married 1900-09-29, also in Kingston, but separated 1919. Moved to Kinmount, Ont., where he died eventually (1935-01-06). (Kinmount is NE of Toronto, near Peterborough.) Babs Wade: 'Records show that he was a salesman. His mother's family owned a big store in Kingston and he presumed he would take it over, but the family had other ideas--I think because of his drinking--and someone else took over. That was in 1917 and I think that is what led to the family breaking up.' Malcolm Sutherland: 'Mayor of Kingston for 1 year or so, when my Dad was around 6' (according to Wikipedia, it was 1914).
