TVO began its Great Lakes week with, of course, The Agenda. watched the agenda (the international joint commission, greatness: the great lakes project). then, we watched a documentary (10 billion: what's on your plate?) on growing food now and by 2050--not through corporate gmo but local farming, even urban agriculture.

beautiful day! got out in the afternoon. in the evening, we watched the rick mercer report, this hour has 22 minutes, striking balance (long point), and exodus: our journey to europe (episode 1).

looking at vortices, some natural, some not. am i pining for a poiuyt? started a strange doc about kandinsky. watched the agenda (confronting climate change, action on the great lakes, lake ontario hot spots, areas of concern) and nova (great human odyssey).

this beautiful day is turning into this beautiful week, tho the trees know it's fall. susan says it's diminishing daylight, not lowering temperature, that triggers them. watched the agenda (chief dean sayers, anita tucker of , indigenous perspectives, power project).

last day for submitting our thoughts about the parliamentary electoral reform committee. want to know more? (sure you do.) the uk and several other jurisdictions have gone thru this. so rather than reinventing the wheel, we can learn from them. here's what i wrote: 'if i, and millions of others, lost my right to vote, i might as well as live in a dictatorship. voting itself is precious.' as my father used to say about canada, 'it's a free country.' he should know. he grew up in hitler's germany. (tx, sh)
