the dark days

these three days of tragedy are here. john lennon was confused with jesus, and the women at l'ecole polytechnique with feminists. pearl harbour, america's entry into the war, was an attack in the name  imperialism, which culminated with the atomic bombings of hiroshima and nagasaki.

madness. that's why for twenty years i've referred to these as the dark days. they are both murder--the killing of a human--and assassination--murder in the name of an ideal.

my job, now, is to do my best to make sure these never happen again.
