while in toronto i learned about depleted uranium (or d-u). it's not really depleted. it's still radioactive. for hundreds of thousands of years. d-u is used by americans in recent wars. it was used in kosovo. it has been used in the gulf war. when--and if--we get carbon licked, we gotta pay attention to uranium.

the tar sands are a headache, but they're in alberta. closer to home, over half of ontario's electricity comes from uranium, and it's not renewable. this'll get you started.
