trantor

the first time i took over a pc at work (windows 3.11) i called it 'trantor'. to this day i think computers are even more insidious than tv--i should know, i've been addicted to both. david suzuki thinks they are part of the increasing urbanization of young people and the increasing isolation from our 'mother'--the natural world of creeks, swamps, fields, etc.

i have two visions of our future:

a treeless, metal world, like trantor, where tens of billions of humans live as cockroaches

or

the opposite.
