impetuous--of taking time, glaciers, entnames, and other things

one of my faults is impetuosity--i'm an aries and by the heavenly bodies i come first, i jump now and ask questions later (if at all); in my biblical self i am the rash one.

rivers may take hundreds, thousands of years to make their course, water etching at rock. water freezes into glaciers, which move only inches a year and take centuries to form.

real entnames are lo-o-o-o-ng, telling of the tree shepherd's entire life-story in detail, and taking days to recite. similarly, decisions made at an entmoot take seemingly forever.

i am forcibly slowed by both my physical deficits and by external circumstances (the world is not perfect, you know).

we use chemicals willy-nilly. we move mountains unthinkingly. we leave our problems for our future selves and our future children to sort out.

though a part of nature--which we seem to forget or deny--we upset the natural balance. we act faster than we re-member.

maybe we should all slow to a glacial pace, take time, be not hasty or rash or impetuous. however, the war of the ring was fought by men and elves, but even ents were caught in fire and flood. what then of mediocrity or apocalypse if we give in to impetuousness?
