-apache reports 'it works!' when i browse to http://localhost/
-mysql fails the 'mysql' command--there's a password problem;
also, http://localhost/phpmyadmin.php 404s
-php reports phpinfo() when i browse to http://localhost/test.php
-in pick, i would know what to do, even now, all these years later; is the same/similar concept, cataloging in the md, applicable to *nix?
