joined the midland/penetanguishene field naturalists club (mpfn), whose guest speaker, bridget stutchbury, spoke about new discoveries in bird migration. caught the tail-end of the ascent of woman: a 10,000 year story, and then watched chopin saved my life, about 'the incredible transformative power of chopin's ballade number 1'.

 'In Western Europe the pig-German word "vasistas" [for a transom window] is occasionally heard. It is a representation of the German "Was ist das?" ("What is that?") as it is said that German visitors had not seen a transom window in their home country.'
