it's that time of year. rather than bag our leaves, we rake them into the garden. tried to see archie fisher but the show was canceled, so we watched some docs: the story of cats, treasures of the earth (gems), and secrets of the dead (graveyard of the giant beasts).

in researching the white rhino, i learned that while there are over 17,000 of the southern subspecies, there are only three left in the wild of the northern subspecies.

we have a middle eastern theme going. i've been researching persian carpets for my art. last night we watched the kiterunner, mostly set in afghanistan. today we went to the aga khan museum.
